The software (firmware) lives within a microcontroller on a small device. Embedded software has real-time operation and generally operates with an in-house minimal OS for speed and efficiency. Low code space requirements means that small and cheap microcontrollers can be used thus keeping unit costs down. Many of our projects have been battery powered meaning efficient use of power for long life.
